"FOMO: Conquer Your Fear of Missing Out and Just Netflix and Chill"

HEY, GEN ZERS! It's your favorite blogger here and I'm here to talk about the dreaded FOMO. Oh, the Fear of Missing Out – we ALL know it.

It's like, you know you should be studying for your upcoming exams and writing that term paper, but all you can think about is that party everyone's going to tonight and all the FOMO you'll feel if you don't go.

It's like, why bother even doing your homework when you could be living it up, right? That's what I always say.

And don't even GET ME STARTED on social media FOMO. You know, when you scroll through your Insta and see all your friends having an awesome time at some cool event and you wish you were there too? It's like, why can't you just get invited to these things? Ugh, so annoying. It's like, why can't life just be fair?

You're probably thinking, "This Gen Z blogger is soooo relatable," and I am!

But let me tell you, FOMO is a real thing and it can be totally overwhelming. You know, when it feels like everyone around you is doing something cool and you're just stuck at home? Yeah, that's the worst, isn't it? It's like, why can't everyone just stay in and watch Netflix like I do?

But don't worry, I'm here to tell you that FOMO is totally normal and there are ways to cope.

First, try to focus on all the cool things you're actually doing with your life – like studying, writing papers, and (if you're not too young) even getting a job.

Remind yourself that there's more to life than parties and events, like getting a good night's sleep and eating a balanced diet.

Also, don't be afraid to take a break from social media every once in awhile. Like, it's totally ok if you don't post every single thing you do. You don't need to prove to everyone what a cool life you have.

And if someone tries to give you a hard time about it, just tell them to chillax and go take a hike – literally.

And lastly, remember that it's ok to say no. Don't let FOMO pressure you into doing something you don't want to do.

Life is too short to be doing something you don't enjoy, so don't be afraid to stay home and binge watch your favorite show instead.

Or if you're feeling adventurous, order some take-out and do a movie marathon. Now that's living!

Alright, Gen Zers – I hope that helps. Now go forth and conquer your FOMO! Peace out!

Love,

Aayushi Satam.
